Nigel Himmel headteacher of The Eaglewood School in New Milton, right, with deputy head John Wood
New Milton’s Eaglewood school now has a new minibus which will help even more pupils get to class. Headteacher Nigel Himmel and deputy head John Wood recently took delivery of the custom-brandedminibus that was refurbished, designed and delivered by Red Kite Vehicle consultants.
The Eaglewood School is an Alternative Provision school for children who find it difficult to cope in mainstream education. Attendance rates are higher than the national average for alternative provision providers.
Mr Himmel said “Our students enjoy coming to school but getting to us is often a barrier for parents.” “The minibus is yet another means for Eaglewood to continue making significant improvement to the lives of our children.” “Since we opened we have created an environment for students to feel safe and supported whatever the issues they are facing. “This minibus will make things easier for many of them.”
The school has gone from strength to strength since the completion of a purpose-built campus in 2019.
